Volunteering in a Sri Lanka

You will be working with local doctors at a city clinic and also have the opportunity to travel to a local town to carry out basic medical checks on the community. Whilst there you will visit schools and centres to participate in talks to raise awareness about various healthcare issues.

During the program you will work with local doctors and nurses exchanging knowledge and skills.

Accommodation: From home-stay through to 4 star hotels, as requested and as available.

Duration: 2 weeks or more.

Scholarship Program 2015

Unconventional Volunteering is offering scholarships for 2 general practitioners to spend 2 weeks in Sri Lanka in April 2015 on a volunteer program working with the local doctors in city clinics and villages.

The scholarship offers return economy airfares to Sri Lanka, accommodation (in home-stays), meals, induction/orientation and transfers.

Following your 2 weeks of volunteering, you would be required to make a presentation to delegates at Unconventional Conventions' medical conference in Sri Lanka, describing your experiences in the clinics and the problems and medical conditions in the community.

You are, of course, welcome to join the rest of the conference and tour. Details about the Unconventional Conventions Sri Lanka 2014 medical conference can be found here: LINK
